Fall Trends for a Trendy Bride

Okay soooo, I am tired of the big FOOFY FOOFY bridal dresses with the GRANDE Princess Tiara!!!Seriously? Let’s be honest. Most of the women getting married today are older and have at least one love child from either or both sides! So why must we walk down the aisle looking like a reject Cinderella?Exactly! We shouldn’t! LOL! Finally Fall is here and I can’t wait to give my fall tips on makeup and hair for my brides!!! As you may or may not know, I am the go to girl for a lot of brides here in Atlanta and surrounding cities. I travel for a lot of my weddings but most are here in the ATL! I have seen some of the most beautiful weddings this past spring and summer! But now is a new season and I have some new fresh tips for all of my Autumn and Winter brides.

I always tell my brides to do a little bit more on their wedding day. You never want to blend in with the rest of the wedding party. Today is your day! This maybe the only day that all eyes will be on you! So, with that being said. Here is a list of things you need your make up artist to do for you so that you stand out especially in your pictures.

1) Wear a pair of eyelashes! ( I say 2 pair… I am a drag queen!) This will give your eyes a pop and open your eyes more. It also stands out in a picture a mile away. (MAC #7’s are my faves and #213’s from the beauty supply store are wonderful) If you want to have a real soft look , just do individual on the ends of your lash line.

2) Use a lip stain that will last during the kissing and eating. Also wear a little bit more color on your lips. This prevents you from looking washed out.

3) Contour your cheeks and wear a high light on the apples of your cheeks. This will give you that blushing bride look.

4) It’s fall time so your skin may need a lil boost to give you a warm and healthy glow. Take a buffing brush and blend on the bridge of your nose. You will look like a goddess! I looooooove Laura Mercier and Nars Bronzers! The BOMB!

I am looking for color on the lips for this falls wedding trends. Rich Plums, Seductive Reds and Bold Fucias are wonderful colors for lips on brides. I am also diggin the soft smokey eyes on brides this fall. Smoldering Gray, Royal emerald green eyeliners and 24 K Gold shadows are wonderful eye colors for this years wedding trends.

I also have some hair tips. NO MORE PRINCESS TIARAS!!!! I hate them because they have been done sooooo many times before! Hair pieces are the way to go! The bigger the pony or up do, the hotter the bride! I say go big and soft with the hair and use big and extravagant hair ornaments. Step out side the box and do something new.

But most of all the man that you are marrying loves you, for you. So on your big day, make sure your man knows who you are when he meets you at the alter. Just be the most beautiful, blushing bride you can be. SMOOCHES!!!!

REDEFINING TRUE BEAUTY

I AM BEAUTIFUL is a campaign to show the real true meaning of beauty. There are so many misconceptions of what beauty is in America. We at Hermosa Cosmetics thinks that beauty comes from within. Are slogan is to “Unleash the Beauty Within”. It is self explanatory. Beauty doesn’t have to be seen as perfection. Beauty genuinely is the smile that shows up on your face. We are looking for women who can display the true meaning of beautiful. In a 120 or less word essay, describe what makes you or the woman you are submitting beautiful. This is not the most prettiest contest. This is the most beautiful contest. It could be a person who give outstanding community service or a woman who passes you ever day and gives you an encouraging word. We are looking for everyday women who have over come adversity and are simply beautiful from the inside out. Submit all entries to www.hermosamakeup@gmail.com With this submission include the Name, D.O.B, Address and Job Title if Applicable. We will have a casting call for all ladies who have sent in an essay (at a specific hotel TBA). If you did not send in an essay you will be denied entry into the casting.

Hermosa will be choosing 10 ladies to be the I AM BEAUTIFUL face of HERMOSA COSMETICS. Each woman will have a high fashion photo shoot, full makeovers including hair, makeup and wardrobe from exclusive stores and boutiques. All contestants will participate in the I AM BEAUTIFUL pageant. This is a fun filled event that will have prizes and gifts for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd winners. 15% of the proceeds will go to a charity of choice that helps support women and children. I hope that you will take the time to find the beauty within and give yourself or someone you know the treat of being pampered and feeling wonderful!

50's Fall Fashion!

I am in love with the Mad Men 50's Fall FASHIONS!!
As you may or may not know, I am a classy girl who loves pearls! I am a lover of the old and could care less about the "it" factor for today. I am a classic beauty lover. I found some fashion faves for the fall that I am in love with! The large bows on the classic skinny heel pump, the natural face with bold thick eyebrows and the elegance of soft leather gloves. This just screams polished, sophisticated, beautiful, soft and lady like.
The colors are so great this year. I am in love with this falls color palette! Bold almost lime greens with smokey grays. Soft pinks with bold magnetic magenta shimmer lips are beautiful to add color to the face. The contrast in the colors are a perfect fit for the fall. When you mix such bold colors with more muted colors it automatically gives that pop of color you want people to notice. But the soft grays and whimsy soft pinks help to tone down the boldness of the other colors. This helps your look not be so over whelming in color for the fall! Just because it gets cold outside and flowers start to die in the colder seasons, doesn't mean that your face has to die with it! My tips for this years fall colors are to keep it sassy and simple.
Let's start with foundation. I love healthy glowing skin all season long. Even though the look of the skin is a matte finish, your skin still needs to looks healthy. Very soft cheeks with a slight contour and matte foundation is the look for this fall. Try the Armani lasting silk foundation with SPF 20. I love, love this foundation. It's great for normal to oily skin textures and it is water based, light and medium coverage.

Of course it's all about the eyes! It's always about the eyes! I am in LOVE with color! I would love for there to always be color on your face. Whether it's on your eyes or your lips. You need color on your face. You want something to pop and catch the attention of others. If you are not a show stopper then stay with the dead, muted look... LOL! This year for the fall I am doing bold colors in the center of the eyes with a soft and smoky crease. My crease color of choice are soft grays and smokey plums. I think these colors in the crease are excellent for the fall and don't over whelm the lid color. For those who like it to be more natural try thick bold brows!!!! I LOVE thick bold brows. A great brow shapes the face and contours the look of your eye. Load your lash with tons of masscara and go!

Last but most definitely not the least, LIPS!!! I have the most fab soup coolers around! ;o) They pay for this in Hollywood okay! LOL! I am doing it up for the lips this fall. I have two fave looks for lips... Orange and Glitter. I am rocking the 50's with matte orange lipstick from MAC and Brick lip liner! FAB! It gives you a retro glam look that everyone will be asking you about trust. Also MAC has the new shimmer lip sticks that I love. Try them with a shinny tinted lip glass on top for ultimate shine! This look is great for night time looks for the club when you want your lips to shine like the disco ball! Try something new for the fall and tell me how you like it!

FINALLY!!!

Finally things are coming together and looking great! Praise GOD! I have been holding my breath for about 6 months now waiting to see how things were going to come together for Hermosa and my business. I am happy to say that I am in my studio and I am working with a group of great photographers here in the Atlanta area!!! It is finally happening and things are looking on the up side. I am not going to say that this hasn't been stressful! I have actually broken down and cried a many of nights. Not knowing how I was going to get this and that done! I am actually in the Library typing this blog because I had to make many sacrifices. But all I can say is that it is worth it! If you want something so bad, you will do anything to get it! Even if it's cutting off your cable, not going to the clubs(unless ladies are free with drinks included)rescheduling hair appointments and down sizing your living arrangements... In the end it is worth every penny or dime you lost! Enough about that!!! Finally there is a place where you can come get your lashes on! Have your eyebrows plucked and your face BEAT DOWN TO THE GROUND!!! Cre8tiv Spaces is where I will be. I love my new space! I can't wait to Hermosafly it down! Photo Shoot with Arthur Butler

I have new pics!!!! I did a wonderful shoot with Arthur Butler and model Sharmaine recently. The shoot was set for 7 o'clock sharp and I got there at 8:38 pm... Don't blame me! I left my home at 6pm on the dot! Atlanta traffic is a beast! It's such a problem that I want to live in the heart of the city. When I finally got to Arthur's studio, he wasn't bitchy or complaining. He was cool and reassured me that he and Sharmaine were cool and just chillin', Waiting for me to get there. I felt so bad and rushed to get my things unpacked! I have to shot out my niece Courtney Dani Young. Without you babe, your aunt would be a complete mess at these shoots! What am I to do when you leave me for college in the fall. I guess I will have to steal you from study hall!!! LOL! I love you my beautiful niece. <3 The shoot went well. I wish I had more time. I literally did Sharmaine's makeup in 35 minutes. Good thing she was a great model, Art is a fabulous photographer and I am an alright makeup artist! Thanks again Arthur for the opportunity! I can't wait to work with you again in the future! Find SHADE!

SO TODAY BY FAR WAS THE HOTTEST DAY OF 2010!!!!

Not only was it hot, but it was muggy and nasty! After walking to my car and stepping one foot inside my heated ride. My concealer was dripping off my face, my foundation was in in the palm of my hands and it was NAAASTY! LOL! So what is a makeup diva like myself to do in this situation you ask???... Go back inside, wash my face and try something a little bit more simple! Today was so hot I decided to go with less. Even though I had a lunch date with my cousins and I never like to show them my less fabulous side. Today was one of those days where foundation and heavy makeup was not an option! I decided to run back into the house wash my face, moisturize, put on masscara, a lil' concealer under my eyes, bronzer on my cheeks and POPPIN' lip gloss on the lips. This is all good but you have to top it all off with some banging glasses! You can not do the minimum and not have the feircest glasses on!! So, I slipped on my Fendi's and walked out the door looking wonderful! When you don't have makeup and you still wanna look fabulous. Try putting on some bad ass glasses! They set off any look but camoflauge what you are trying to hide while wearing little to no makeup! Here is some Fashionista shades that you will love.
